Inverness Medical Innovations is committed to producing only the highest quality products at our facilities round the world, utilizing the most modern manufacturing practices and systems.  We are proud of our state-of-the-art technology, ongoing improvement programs and production teams, working within and across departments, combining to maintain the highest standards at each step of the manufacturing process. This ensures quality and helps our innovative products reach the market quickly.

Many of the reagents used in our products are manufactured using monoclonal antibodies produced in-house, together with other chemical reagents. These active components are deposited onto special membranes. The product performance is carefully managed to ensure exacting specifications are met. The active components from our technical production area are encased using a variety of unique and highly automated machines. The components are then packed on automated packing lines, producing a vast range of pack variants.

We manufacture nearly all of our consumer diagnostic products at our facilities in Bedford, England; Shanghai, China and Hangzhou, China. Professional diagnostic products are manufactured at facilities in the UK, US, Israel and Japan. These facilities are each ISO certified and registered with the United States Food and Drug Administration.

We also have manufacturing operations in Freehold, New Jersey, and Irvington, New Jersey.  The New Jersey facilities are the manufacturing base for our vitamin and nutritional supplement products.   We produce substantially all of our softgel requirements at the Irvington facility. Our Freehold facility manufactures in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards recently proposed by the FDA for the dietary supplement industry.  Our Irvington facility manufactures to GMP standards applicable to drug makers and is registered with both the United States Drug Enforcement Agency and the FDA.  We also have a packaging and distribution center for the consumer business in North America located in Freehold.
